Learning Central is a highly flexible management system, that allows training administrators to quickly and effectively customize, monitor, and track the utilization of Computer-Based Training (CBT), Pre/Post-Training Assessment activities of individuals.

Builds Customized CBT Courses in Minutes

Using Learning Central, training administrators can design CBT activities to meet users' training needs.

Various options are available, including how the material is presented to the users. For instance, CBT courses can be played in two modes: Sequential Learning Mode, where topics appear in the order that the administrator has selected, or in Explorer Learning Mode, where topics are selected by the users.

The administrator can also determine how users learn the material. The Demo Mode allows users to view a demonstration of how to perform a task. The Teacher Mode allows users to interactively learn how to perform a task. A Quiz is available to provide users with questions on the topics covered.

Builds Custom Skills Assessments in Minutes

Learning Central can be configured to embed pre- and post-skills assessments in the CBT course.

Pre-Training Assessment provides users with the ability to test their skills before training and determine what topics they should take to improve their skills.

Post-Training Assessment provides users with the ability to test their skills after training to evaluate the effectiveness of the training and determine additional training needs.

For each CBT topic, training administrators can specify the number of questions included in the skills assessment. They can also determine whether the user should obtain feedback (correct or incorrect) after each question and whether a summary screen should be displayed at the end of the assessment to allow users to review their results.

Using the results, pre- and post-training assessments can be compared to evaluate the effectiveness of the training and justify the value of training within the organization.

A Personal CBT Course can also be created upon completion of the assessment, based on those items the user answered incorrectly. This personal course would reflect exactly the material the user needs to learn.

Flexible Management System

Learning Central provides centralized management and administration of training usage by controlling user access to CBT courses and skills assessment activities.

Learning Central can be configured to let administrators manage the entire learning process. Administrators can register and enroll users, establish user and activity groups, and determine course content and availability. Learning Central can also be set to allow users to register and enroll themselves into the system. Users may create their own courses and take training based on their individual preferences.

Justifies Training Investment

Learning Central tracks activities at the course or topic level and records them in a central database. After each CBT course or skills assessment is taken, test results can be compiled and reported quickly and accurately.

Comprehensive standard performance and usage reports can be generated to include users' names, the date they took the course or skills assessment, the total number of topics taken, the number of questions answered correctly and incorrectly and the percent complete. Using these reports, management can evaluate the progress of every user and calculate the return on their training investment.

Custom reports can also be created by customers or by PTS on their behalf.

Enterprise Wide Support

Learning Central can be installed locally at the desktop or delivered across a network on Local Area Networks (LAN) or Wide Area Networks (WAN).

The Integrated Learning Solution™

Over the past ten years, PTS Learning Systems has designed a new approach to the challenge of software training and support. The new approach, called the Integrated Learning Solution, consists of a comprehensive suite of learning products comprised of Instructor-Led Courseware, Computer Based Training (CBT), Electronic Performance Support Systems (EPSS) with On-Demand Interactive Learning and Skills Assessment into a fully integrated, customizable, and networkable solution.

Learning Central has been engineered since its inception to work with other PTS products. Using CustomDOC, training administrators can select training content from PTS software library. This content can then be used by Learning Central to create new CBT and skills assessment activities. This consistency provides critical learning reinforcement.
